Welcome to the official home page of the Veiled Prophet Ball, the preeminent formal gala for introducing young ladies, generally in their sophomore year of college, to the St. Louis metropolitan community. Each year, approximately sixty to seventy young women are chosen for their outstanding community service efforts and walk down the magnificent 72-foot-long Veiled Prophet runway in fashionable couture gowns, and in front of family and friends, are presented and honored for their contributions. The evening culminates in the crowning of a Queen of Love and Beauty, who holds the title for one year.
The annual event is formal dress, white tie for men, and long dresses and white gloves for women. It includes a pageant, reception, Queen's Supper and early morning breakfast. The Ball is private and by invitation only.
Approximately 2,000 guests attended in formal attire, 71 young women walked the runway, and Miss Merrill Clark Hermann was crowned Queen of Love and Beauty.
